Announcing exhibit opening March 3rd 2-4pm, displayed through March at the Bristol Public Library.
Artistic Excellence, sponsored by Bristol’s Art in Public Places, is an exciting opportunity for high school art students to showcase their best work and carry with them into their futures confidence and pride in their creative expression.
The juror is Hank T. Foreman, Director and Chief Curator of the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Arts and Cultural Affairs at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
$1,750 in prize money will be awarded to dozens of creative young artists, who will be discovering their placement and awards at the reception.
A public opening reception honoring the student will be held on March 3rd, 2012 from 2-4pm at the Vergie R. Fleenor Gallery in the Bristol Public Library in Bristol, Virginia. The art will remain for the month of March for all to enjoy (and share on Facebook!).
The event will be a highlight of Bristol’s officially designated Arts & Entertainment District and is being promoted by the Believe in Bristol A&E District Committee. The project is also part of Virginia’s Minds Wide Open: Celebrates Children and the Arts initiative.
