Form: the volume and shape of a three-dimensional work

Scale: the size of an object in relation to other objects and its surroundings

Additive sculpture: three dimensional work made by putting pieces of material(s) together to build up a form

Subtractive sculpture:
carving away the excess from a larger piece of material

Relief sculpture: a type of sculpture that has forms that extend into space from a single plane

Planes: in sculpture these are the surface areas defined by abrupt variations of direction

Void: open space within the sculptural form

Space: the area around the whole sculpture
